Finally got my own wireless internet access from Florence, but can’t seem to upload pictures (a problem for tomorrow). Oh well!
We only left Venice today, but already we miss the incredibly aged and decayed feel of the buildings, the walkways without motorscooters and the canals. Two nights was not enough.
Managed to get lost in busy Florence, my direction sense deserted me. The exterior of the Duomo is pure magnificence, while the ceiling freeze in the dome is similarly stunning. expensive shopping, crazy drivers and a pickpocked (thankfully not involving us, but the threat is there).
Never realised that a laundromat would be so expensive, but hopefully we can survive with a single clothes wash on this trip.
Bookings for the Uffizi early tomorrow. Hopefully I can find my way back there.
